1. Setting Up: Ready your oven for baking at 350°F (175°C). Use parchment paper or gently butter a 9×13-inch baking pan to line it.
2. Get the crust ready: Combine the granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and softened butter in a large basin and mix until smooth. Mix in the salt and flour a little at a time. Spread the batter out evenly in the bottom of the pan you’ve prepared.
To make the crust, preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until just beginning to turn a light golden color. Take it out and let it aside to cool for a little.
Beat the powdered sugar and softened cream cheese in a separate dish until smooth. Set aside. Combine the egg with the lemon zest and juice, then stir until well incorporated.
